PRIMEDY

Health Club

Chase your Prime. Ditch the Guesswork. That's the Remedy.

I have been attending Primedy for 3 months now. I love this gym! The personal attention is great. The coaches (Andrew, Elizabeth and Lexi) are very knowledgeable. Everyone is very welcoming. They personalize each class to fit different levels and no one ever makes anyone feel above or below one another. We all cheer each other on, especially the coaches. I highly recommend this gym.
Don’t normally give 5 Stars to anything but Primedy deserves this rating. As a member of the Fortify classes, I’m so happy that Andrew and his team know everyone’s abilities and capabilities. This allows Andrew to modify the workouts to each individual. This provides everyone with the opportunity to build on their own strengths and improve at their own pace. You get out what you put into it. I’ve gotten to the other side of cancer treatment while attending classes and have noticed my fitness level has increased significantly from when I started about a year ago. So pleased that I started but more pleased that I didn’t give up. And, that is because of the Primedy family of which I am part.
The coaches at Primedy are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive to my goals. This is so much more than a gym — I’ve received guidance in strength training, recovery, and proper techniques that emphasize safe and effective movement. With every class, I’m learning something new and continuing to exceed my goals. It’s truly the best experience I’ve had with a health club and training environment. I used to believe cardio was the key and that strength training was boring. Now, I actually enjoy strength training more than running, and I feel stronger, more balanced, and healthier than ever.
Primedy Health Club turned out to be exactly what I was missing. I had been staying active, but I knew my workouts lacked a true focus on strength—and at this stage of life, strength really matters. From the moment I started at Primedy, I was impressed by both the trainer and the structure of the small group workouts. Each session is challenging, and the benefits I’ve gained are countless. I highly recommend Primedy!!
Let me warn you that I am not a fan of going to the gym. An hour in the dentist’s chair might be preferable. So what changed so that we are now going to Primedy gym 3 times a week since last July? We realized that being in our mid-70’s we needed to find an exercise program that would enable us to continue managing our 7 acre horse farm. We have friends who attend the Fortify class at Primedy (peer pressure is not just for teenagers!) and after one class we knew it would work for us. Briefly, these are the things we love about Primedy: -Very small classes (usually 6) with lots of individual attention. The good news is that Andrew sees everything you do. The bad new is that Andrew sees everything you do. His corrections make it possible to achieve goals more quickly and efficiently. If someone is unable to do a certain movement, he will modify the exercise for that individual. -Varied work out every time that keeps it interesting. Warm up and cool down are targeted to the workout for that day. No cookie cutter workouts. -Camaraderie. We always look forward to seeing our fellow classmates and we encourage and challenge each other. -Reasonably priced and Andrew is very flexible. -I’ve noticed a big improvement functionally. I haven’t lifted a 50lb bag of horse feed in years but I can do it now correctly and (almost) effortlessly. -The last thing I will say is that Andrew is incredibly knowledgeable about nutrition, anatomy, and physiology and is great at explaining things. So when I want to know why my shoulder is hurting, he can explain what muscles are involved and how to fix the pain. We drive half an hour from Sykesville to get to Primedy, but it’s definitely worth it!.

And a number worth beating.

Your birthday says one age. Your body performs at another. That gap is your Functional Age, and it's the real measure of healthspan: how many of your years you spend strong and capable. We measure it, then retest through the year so you can watch it drop as you train.

FAQ

Common questions.

What's the best first step? ⌄
Use the guide above and we'll recommend your path. For adult group training, you'll start with a free Intro session. For personal training or health coaching, you'll start with a quick intro call. Either way, a coach helps you land in the right place.
What is Functional Age? ⌄
Functional Age is how old your body performs, based on strength, mobility, and capacity, rather than the number on your birthday. Improving it is the whole point: it's what keeps you capable and independent for longer.
What is an Intro session? ⌄
A free 1:1 session with a coach and the starting point for training. We learn your goals, look at how you move, and map out the right path and pace before you begin. You can book it yourself any time.
Do you have programs for kids and student athletes? ⌄
Yes. RISE is for ages 6–10, and EXCEL is for student athletes ages 10–17. Both are coach-led and built to develop movement, strength, and confidence at the right level.
Do I need to train here to do health coaching? ⌄
No. Health coaching is a standalone service you can do on its own, without a training membership. Many members do pair it with their training for nutrition, habits, and accountability, but it works either way.
Where are you located? ⌄
We're in Mount Airy, Maryland. All Health Club in-person training is at our facility located at 401 Center St, Unit 208, Mount Airy, MD 21771. However, we also offer virtual services.
